Adopt a Border Collie / Husky / Mixed (medium coat)

Rico is such a handsome dude. He is 3 ½ years old. He is primarily black but if you look closely you can see some white. His shiny coat is medium length. He is full grown and weighs under 60 pounds.  He would qualify as medium or large because of his “thick” body. He is not overweight, just solid. Rico is a mystery as to his mix. Lab? Husky? Shepherd? Your guess is as good as ours.

In addition to being handsome (with soft brown eyes) he is a gentle soul, listens very well, and loves attention. Rico is great in a play group with other dogs. Plus, he has lived with another dog, Pinto, from the beginning. They are such good buddies. (Pinto is also on the Dog Star list of adoptable dogs).

We know about their lives because the owner had to surrender them when he could no longer care for them.

Rico is house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. (Please remember that even trained dogs can have occasional accidents as they adjust to a new home and new routine). He lived in a home with kids and his best bud, Pinto. They have such a wonderful friendship. He is friendly with anyone he meets, particularly if they give him attention. He is definitely a tail wagger!

Rico truly deserves a second chance. Through no fault of his own, he lost his forever home. It would be wonderful if he could be adopted with his brother, but it is not required. If Rico appeals to you and your heart, keep on reading…
